In 2013 Emanuele Piria conquered 2kg of T-Bone steak in just over 13 minutes. Can you eat 2kg of T-Bone steak in 2 hours? In August Steak Society will be heading to Tuscany to attempt the T-Bone challenge.
The Beef steak Festival
Every year in Tuscany, a number of towns hold festivals dedicated to the Fiorentina (T-Bone) steak (there is clearly no limit to Italian cultural superiority).
These festivals can involve casual steak eating or.. if you’re brave enough you can take part in the daily T-Bone challenge.
The T-Bone challenge at Festa Della Bistecca
Your challenge is to eat 2kg of T-Bone steak (with two side dishes) in 1 hour and its free.
There’s a few basic rules like:
- No one can help you eat or cut the steak or cut.
- Fat and gristle doesn’t have to be eaten.
- One the clock starts you can’t leave the table
- You have to pay prior to eating and if you complete the challenge then you are refunded (Pricing TBC)
When is it on?
In 2018 the Festival is held on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 17 August – 1 September.
The steaks are served from 7.30-10.30pm.
