Serving  British beef from Yorkshire (alongside USDA beef) Goodman is an established steakhouse with excellent beef. It has a slightly more formal feel to it than Hawksmoor, but it’s still pretty good, man. Price guide: ££££

Flat Iron Covent Garden

Flat Iron has a simple proposition: a steak and only one kind of steak (for £11). The quality, taste, cooking and service makes Flat Iron the best value steak in London.

Visiting the Covent Garden restaurant will also get you a sweet surprise; a free salted caramel ice cream. Though, with a walk-in only policy and a wait time of up to two hours, you can claim you’ve earned it. Price guide: £
